Fly Fishing:
One of our most popular activities. Southern Vermont offers world renowned fly fishing on the Battenkill river and many of its tributaries and other local streams and rivers. Most prevalent during spring and during hatches. Casting lessons can be provided hourly, as well as full and half day trips. All levels of experience are welcome with parties up to four participants. We also offer many other types of fishing including bass, pike, catfish, spin fishing and more on Lake Champlain and local rivers, lakes and tributaries.
Bow Fishing:
That’s right in a category all its own Sandgate Outdoors is now offering archery bow fishing trips. With unmatched opportunity, Vermont’s bowfishing regulations and Lake Champlain allow for a variety of species and nighttime shooting including carp, long nose, gar, bowfin, tench and more. Hunting:
Vermont offers many great and tucked away hunting opportunities on both public and private lands. Our most popular is spring turkey season which runs May 1-31st yearly. We have an abundant wild turkey population and success rates average around 80% for a 3 day hunt. Other hunting opportunities include small and upland game, fall deer hunting, spring and summer woodchucks, and predator hunting.
Trail Hikes:
With miles of well maintained state, public and private trails whether a short hike or something more challenging, we have the right trail for you. Vermont’s vast beauty and scenic mountains are a short walk away. Fall foliage hikes are breathtaking in Vermont. Groups of up to ten people.
Skeet Shooting:
Whether for a simple afternoon away or something more competitive, skeet shooting is a great way to stay practiced with your firearms or pass the time with friends. No matter your skill level our guides will have you shooting like the pros.
